Year in Review

It's time to shut down this adoption blog -- mission completed -- and we'll continue on with Martin-Spisak musings in another thread soon. But as a celebration to the year gone by, here's a 10 min. video, if you've got the time.

Much love and thanks for the support.

Thanks for sharing! Completely heartwarming. We're going to be a family with four children after our adoption, so I had to laugh about the remark about 4 being a lot!

A long time ago, when you were saddened by the wait, I reminded you of "wondering where the Lions are". We started our adoption journey to China last friday, full of the joy and anticipation that you expressed early on. When we get saddened in the "waiting places" and the paperwork, and find ourselves lacking, we will remember this video, and smile, heartened, knowing that one day we'll share your joy.

Again, thank you so much for sharing everything. God bless your family.

Hi Luke and Sheri,

In Dec 2006 we got an unexpected call from Heartsent -- we got a referral for a baby girl from SLC in Taiwan! We weren't expecting this call for at least 4-6 months but they told us that we moved up the ladder since our girl's brother was recently adopted by a SoCal family. Since then we have been curious as to where her brother is.

My wife and I have spent the last few months reading a lot of taiwan adoption blogs to keep ourselves preoccupied. I just came across your blog and it hit me that Seth David might be Ava's brother (no, we were not specifically looking for Ava's brother). Although I don't typically do this I couldn't help myself from posting this comment on your blog.

Thank you for sharing your story. I can't imagine how you guys managed to wait for so long to get David home after you got the referral.

I can pass on Ava's blog address to you if you are interested. I am just not comfortable posting it in this comment.

Thanks everyone -- and a special thanks to you, Wilfred, for reaching out to us. I know that Sheri enjoyed speaking with your wife last night. We're looking forward to seeing you and watching the adoption journey of David's little sister. (Something I'm thinking that the other bloggers and waiting parents might have heard from Sheri through the Yahoo group?)

Life is good. It really is.

Mom enjoyed watching the production this morning and Jo and I just did a look see.

What a great production. Your editorial comments were right on target.

Thanks for sharing. We will watch this many, many times.

Good work.
